Overview

Windsurf (by Codeium) is an AI-powered code editor. Because CLōD's API is OpenAI-compatible, you can point Windsurf to CLōD's endpoint and instantly access 50+ models with energy-aware cheaper inference.

Prerequisites

• CLōD account — free at app.clod.io
• Windsurf installed
• CLōD API key (Dashboard → API Keys → Generate)

Setup

Step 1: Get your CLōD API key

Sign in at app.clod.io → API Keys → Generate Key. Store it safely.

Step 2: Configure CLōD as your provider in Windsurf

Open Windsurf Settings (⌘, / Ctrl+,) → go to the Cascade tab → scroll to the Model Provider section.

Select OpenAI Compatible as the provider.

Set:
- Base URL: https://api.clod.io/v1
- API Key: your CLōD API key

Click Save. You can now select CLōD models from the model picker in Cascade.

Step 3: Select a model and start coding

Browse available models at app.clod.io/auth/models. For coding tasks, use tool-calling capable models like GPT-4o or Claude 3.5 Sonnet.

Available Models

CLōD supports 50+ models. For agentic tools, use models that support tool calling / function calling.
